And Finally a New Bear, "Cameron"

Its been a considerable amount of time since I last released a new available bear, I have also had a few problems with my laptop so unfortunately I am unable to update my website, yet thankfully my blog is stepping in to finally bring a long awaited teddy bear update. And I am pleased to introduce Cameron, he is approximately fifteen inches tall and ten inches seated.

Cameron is made from beautiful curly mohair with complementary cashmere trapunto paw pads on all four paws giving him raised toes and pads which I have detailed with delicate hand shading.

Cameron wears a cream knitted vest and is fitted with black glass eyes and an embroidered nose and mouth. I have used extensive scissor and needle sculpting techniques to bestow his face with endearing characteristics.

Cameron is fully jointed and I have added steel shot to his tummy to give a nice weighty feel.

Camerons adoption fee is £169.00 plus postage

UK Postage - £8.00 – European postage - £16.00 - Worldwide postage - £23.00
and all postage is fully insured.

If you would like to adopt Cameron or you would like more information please do contact me at melanie@beartreasures.com and if you would like more information on purchasing information please do visit my website www.beartreasures.com and visit the contact me and ordering page of my site.

lots of love

A new member to our family

From time to time we all make rash, sudden or surprising decisions. Today was just one of those days where an impulsive decision adds a whole new dimension to family life.

Earlier this afternoon after a telephone call with a friend David turned to me and asked in a doubtful but hopeful tone would I be interested in adopting a 6 month old Spaniel, I don't think he ever expected me to say yes, but with very little hesitation I did and a few hours later in walked David with a beautiful Spaniel named Rosie. Any doubts I had about having a dog again disappeared the moment I saw her friendly face. We have talked about buying a dog for such a long time and I am so pleased that this opportunity came our way as Rosie is such a lovely and playful character who already seems to be settling in rather well with both the boys.

Rosie comes from a loving home who's owner due to some very serious health issues had to make the sad decision that she could not look after her in the way that a young playful Spaniel needed. Fortunately for us her son-in-law, David's good fishing partner who is also a spaniel owner of two which includes Rosie's sister from the same litter thought of David and how for such a long time we have talked about bringing a dog/Spaniel into our home and family. We have also spent a long time researching the Spaniel bread so we already knew about the temperament characteristics and needs of a spaniel. Opportunities like this are often few and far between so I am delighted to have her in our home. Although very young puppies are ever so cute I am pleased we missed the very early months of house training and teething with her and I know at her now young age of six months she has much more training to go I just hope all continues to go well........ Oh and on a very positive note too, I love her name, there is no way David or Patrick would have ever agreed me calling a dog a very girly name like Rosie, so this is a bonus for me as Rosie is the type of name I would have wanted!

Never clean your windows!

Originally two weeks ago I started to clean my living room windows and little did I know that this normal household cleaning duty would lead to a full redecoration of my living room! On an impulsive decision I decided to take my living room blinds down, I was bored of them and on that very same moment I decided things could do with a freshen up. Even before I managed to clean the windows I thought there and then it was time for a change. Initially I intended to simply clean my windows, since then my whole living room has now undergone an entire makeover! My living room walls are now a wholemeal colour and my beautiful wood work and doors are pure crisp, clear and white in colour. In the space of two weeks I have managed to paint the walls, undercoat and paint the woodwork, make new curtains and upholster the loose coverings on my sofa's and now I feel refreshed in doing so, I still have a few things left to do, but I do feel raring to go again on the bears and the short break which originally started with cleaning the windows has given me a whole new lease of life and creativity. I think I am glad I decided to clean my windows and allow my impulse to take over!
